2020-21 Collaborative Workshop Schedule

Collaborative Workshop schedule:

May

During the month of May (and early June as needed), Nancy and Shelly will schedule individual Zoom meetings with each participant to discuss the specific details about their project and determine what they hope to achieve through this series.

Saturday, June 6 (2 hour Zoom Meeting)

The participants will meet as a group, introduce themselves and each share a bit about the project they are planning. Nancy and Shelly will present on Story Genius (SG) concepts and provide a list of exercises used to create the character’s backstory. The participants will then have three weeks to flesh out all the exercises, decide on the specific misbelief for their main character, and determine what POV might work best for this project.

Saturday, June 27 (two 90-minute Zoom Meetings with a lunch break in between)

The group will meet in morning Zoom session to discuss their SG specific responses, collaborate on refining the misbelief and support each other’s progress. After a break for lunch, Nancy and Shelly will give an overview on the Save the Cat Writes a Novel (STC). We will specifically review how to plot out Act One.

Note: the dates above are set, but the following dates may be adjusted, depending on the availability and needs of the group. You MUST attend in person; these sessions will not be recorded. This is a collaborative endeavor that requires in-person participation.
