Don’t Tip the Scale: Balancing Story and Rhyme in Picture Book Texts
Saturday, October 19, 2019, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. CST

Rebecca Gomez

Story comes first. Sound familiar? Rhymers hear all the time that story is more important than rhyme in a picture book text. But is that really true? In this workshop, picture book author and rhyme enthusiast Rebecca J. Gomez will explore that question and help participants learn how to strike the ideal balance between rhyme and story in their picture book manuscripts.

Rebecca J. Gomez is a children’s author, poet, and fan of all things creative and fun, especially when they relate to books. She is the co-author of Hansel and Gretel Ninja Chicks, What About Moose?, and the forthcoming Two Tough Trucks with Corey Rosen Schwartz.
