Early Chapter Study Group

Date(s) - 09/21/2021
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Have you always thought you would enjoy writing chapter books for readers aged 6 – 9, but aren’t sure where to start? Do you wonder if chapter books follow the same story structure and include the same story elements as middle grade and young adult novels? Do you enjoy reading books for young readers, then tearing those books apart to see exactly how they are written—so that you can use that information to improve your own writing? Do you wish you had a group of writers that shared this same interest—so that you could share what you are learning and continue to grow in your knowledge of the craft?

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then we would love to have you join us for Nebraska’s first ever “Zoom Chapter Book Study Group”. Led by Nebraska author and teacher Nancy Sharp Wagner, this group will meet once a month (via Zoom), beginning in September, with the sole intent of studying chapter books written for readers in the primary grades. This study group is being offered free to SCBWI members, but it does have a limit of 24 participants.

Registration closes September 7, so don’t delay! Sign up now and we will see you in September!
