As we remerge into the world of in-person events, we are bringing back quarterly social events! These are chances to gather with other kidlit creatives for a couple of hours to eat, chat, and get to know each other better. No set agenda beyond fostering those community connections that are so central to success in this industry!
Our Fall social will take place October 15, from 1-4 p.m. in Lincoln. We are partnering with Larksong Writer’s Place, conveniently located in northeast Lincoln at 1600 N. Cotner Boulevard. If you are driving in from Omaha, it’s a quick jaunt from the interstate and easy to find.
Larksong members interested in writing for kids are also welcome, and we hope they will have a chance to learn from all of you–and maybe become members themselves.
If you have a book that was recently published, please email Alison with two jpegs: your headshot and one of the cover, so we can share your good news with everyone!

NOTE: Because this is an in-person event, it is subject to SCBWI Covid protocols, and you will be required to submit a negative Covid test prior to attending. Click here for SCBWI’s full Covid policy.
UPDATE: It looks like we will have a beautiful afternoon and fewer than 25 people attending, so we will plan to be outside for the social. Please take a HOME Covid test before you arrive to be sure you are negative. Take a picture of your results with your phone and be ready to show it when you arrive.
