Reverse Outlining Using the Story Endings Matrix

October 22, 2022
9 am – 12 pm (Central Time)

Writers focus so much on how to start their story right, they fail to bring it to a satisfying conclusion. In this workshop, Jes Trudel will share with you her unique Story Endings Matrix tool which will help put your ending into perspective. She’ll then teach you how to use reverse outlining to create a story tightly plotted from beginning to end. Participants will be able to work together in small groups to explore different possible endings to their stories, and practice reverse outlining. This half-day workshop will take place on Zoom, so you can attend from anywhere. The presentation will be recorded and available to registrants for two weeks following the workshop.

Jes Trudel is a Canadian author, editor, and instructor based in Timmins, Ontario. She has written and presented for various outlets, including Children’s Book Insider, SCBWI, 12×12 Picture Book Challenge, and BoldFace. Jes co-founded and hosts annual events like #canlitpit and the Northern Ontario Book Fair. She also sits on the board of the Timmins Public Library.
