(Un)Stuck in the Middle Webinar

Thursday, March 8, 2018, 7:00 – 8:30 pm (Central)

The live event is SOLD OUT. You can still register to watch the replay (available until March 22).

The biggest issue for many writers isn’t how to begin or end a story, but how to deal with the muddy middle. Join SCBWI Nebraska for a webinar with literary agent and independent editor Lorin Oberweger to learn how to handle the challenges associated with the middle of your novel.

Lorin will help you vet your novel’s premise to make certain it’s sound and can carry a story filled with escalating stakes and complications; develop fully formed characters whose backstories, desires, and motivations are powerful enough to support a compelling narrative; and tackle pacing issues to help you understand when to slow the narrative and when to let it fly.

Following the webinar, participants will also receive a special opportunity to submit to Lorin, who is otherwise closed to submissions.

Lorin Oberweger is an agent with Adams Literary Agency. A long-time independent editor and story development guru whose client successes range from small press publications to major bestselling novels, Lorin has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times.

If you are unable to attend the live webinar, a replay will be available for two weeks following the live event.
